It just goes to show, if you fangirl about a person hard enough it’ll get you motorboated…
Yes, you heard it right, I was motorboated by honus honus. (More like he layed his head on my chest for a good amount of time, but hey a girl can dream)
I can die happy. This is something I will never forget, & I want to follow man man everywhere with the coolest person I’ve yet to meet, Ian, & jake of course ;p
(We need to plan a roadtrip mister ian)
Needless to say, I died & went to man man heaven.
It’s hard to say anything is worth a three plus years wait, but goddamn if that wasn’t it. Words could never do the actual show justice, so I’ll just provide a hodgepodge of my personal highlights. I’ll forever treasure getting bopped on the head by Honus Honus with his drum stick, as well as my newly autographed photo of Honus Honus and Pow Pow (bury me with it). Not to mention my Honus Honus hug. It took everything in my power not to cry like a baby during “Van Helsing Boombox” - glad they shifted to end on a more upbeat medley (“This ship won’t sail, this heart won’t die”). The crowd was *amazing* (including my new friends Rachel and Jake! As well as the Tucson Three.) and I’ve never had so much fun being violated by a group of anonymous strangers (but really, if you think about it, strangers are just friends you haven’t met yet).
Not to mention getting introduced to one of the few bands that wouldn’t leave me counting the seconds to a Man Man performance: Shilpa Ray & Her Happy Hookers. Unbelievable in the best sense possible. Looking forward to exploring more of them.
This was a gold goddamn star evening, ladies and gentlemen, one that I’ll never, ever forget.
People (not just me!) count down the days to a Man Man show for a reason. Hopefully there won’t be 3 years worth of them until next time.
Peace and love. Life Fantastic, indeed.
